Well here we are in week 7! This class has flown by!
1. Mindfulness meditation was difficult for me at first and has taken some serious cultivating to complete. It had been a benefit because it has calmed the vioces (lol) in my head and allowed those voice to like me instead(Pink song Perfect lmao). I really have noticed a calming effect since I started this class.
2. What is meant by the statement "One cannot lead another where one has not gone himself” We can not teach somebody something if we ourselves have not been through it and overcame the obstacle. I advise people on nutrition and diabetes on a daily basis. I myself was very overweight and understand the struggle therefore have a more "non judgmental" mind towards that particular subject. I no longer have diabetes and have lost a large amount of weight. I definatly have an obligation to learn and keep learning to pass on the education to my clients! They pay for my services and should have a well rounded trainer assisting them. It also allows for openmindedness for me to understand different cultural practices.
3.Suggestions for exercise and maintaining a healthy life
1.try a new form of exercise every month or so
2.attend a random yoga class where you do not know any body
3. experience a new religion once or twice a year
4. try new cultural food(food is a religious experience for some)
5. keep an open mind towards fellow human beings!
These suggestions have worked for my clients because they can tailor them to their needs!

ReplyDeleteI have to agree, this course has improved my ability to meditate and of course be mindful. It contributes to me having a piece of mind and being peaceful. As I have recently stated, I am a progress in work and continue to improve myself daily. The suggestions that you made for exercises are great as a matter of fact I am trying to find a yoga class that I can attend. I believe that would help keep me calm and peaceful as well.
