Compare and contrast the loving kindness exercise and subtle mind exercise.
I have been practicing the loving kindness exercise now for a week and have noticed a great difference in my outlook towards others. I do see others in a more loving way which has given me a sense of peace. People that used to irritate me I see as now as less of an irritation and more as people I am praying for( and really praying for ha ha). The subtle mind exercise was great until the static in the CD. the static was loud and scared me I jumped!! lol I would like to hear the rest of it. My only frustration was the static present in the audio. I have noticed a focused mind lately. I tend to have the chatter at night when it is quiet and can not sleep. I have been practicing the love and kindness exercise at night to ease the stress.

Happy Easter Shawna, That is awesome that you have been continuing with the loving kindness exercise and one result is that people do not irritate you as much. Well, I have not taken the time I should to consistently follow this exercise and there is one person that has really been getting on my nerves. Coincidence, maybe, I know that we have been short staffed for over a month and will soon lose our manager for eight weeks to maternity leave. This could cause unneeded stress and when I have a person that likes to instigate as his way of being funny, I just don't allow myself to let it go. As far as the extra stress, I just need to take the tools we have been given through out our classes and use them.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have success in finishing the Subtle Mind exercise and way to go with the Loving Kindness exercise. ~Struck
Shawna, I also had the static about 5 or 6 minutes into the meditation. You can find the complete meditation in the Docsharing Tab in our class if you would like to finish it. I think it is great that you are noticing an improvement in your focus already. I guess we have been in this class now for about 5 weeks. It really doesn't seem like it has been that long. I also used the Loving-Kindness Meditation a few time to help me sleep. It is very calming, and it really does help with the mental chatter. I also liked the meditation that I think we did in the second week of class, the one that took us through the journey of colors. It is really just wonderful to do the meditations, relax for the brief amount of time, and I do think my stress level has declined. Many Blessings, Laura
ReplyDeleteOk folks 3 days no meditation and I wanted to slap someone! LOL It really works! Hope you all had a nice Easter!
